The founders of Urth Remedies started as friends who came from different walks of life—bodybuilding, martial arts, fitness coaching, even film and advertising—and connected over a passion for sharing access to health and healing, and being of service to others. They had experienced how incorporating CBD and medicinal mushrooms into their lifestyle radically transformed not only their overall quality of life but their ability to perform daily responsibilities, have restorative sleep, create balance, push boundaries, and be present. They also saw gaps in the CBD and wellness markets, namely that products had low potency, additives or even labels without ingredient lists, making it impossible to know whether they were truly safe. So they set out on a mission to create premium organic products that spread the healing attributes of CBD and medicinal mushrooms to people and their furry friends around the world. Urth Remedies is committed to transforming human health and the wellness industry by offering the highest-quality products with the utmost transparency and integrity.
Our Story
Urth Remedies Co-Founder Tomm Voss is a Qigong teacher and world champion martial artist as well as a holistic nutrition, fitness and life coach. But he didn’t start off that way.
Tomm spent his twenties as a professional bodybuilder and spokesperson for Men’s Fitness and Muscle & Fitness magazines. After a decade in the industry, the extreme demands of the industry took a toll on Tomm’s body. He was sent to the ICU and diagnosed with a severe autoimmune disease known as Henoch-Schönlein Vasculitis, the treatment of which caused Hypothyroidism. He was told he would need to take prescription drugs for the rest of his life.
Tomm then embarked on a journey to heal himself. He became a student of Grandmaster Zhou of the 18th generation Wudang Dragon Gate Qigong lineage. Through Master Zhou’s guidance, Tomm learned to balance his system through Qigong and holistic nutrition, and cleared himself of any need for medication.
In 2016, Tomm became the Eskrima World Champion, and attributes much of his success in competition to the strong foundation that Qigong has given him. Tomm eventually became a teacher of Qigong and now supports people in healing themselves from imbalances and chronic illnesses such as Parkinson’s, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, and cancer.
Tomm went on to co-found Urth Remedies, sourcing the best organic CBD in the world and helping to formulate truly exceptional healing products. He is thrilled to be doing this in partnership with his good friend and business partner, Damian Stevens.
Damian is also an avid athlete—surfer, soccer player and two-time competitive cycling state champion. Having suffered major sports injuries, Damian was looking for an alternative to traditional prescription pain medications. He discovered high quality CBD worked wonders to alleviate his aches, pains, stress, and even delivered a consistent good night’s sleep. He saw Urth Remedies as a game changer, and is proud to be a co-founding partner of a company that can contribute to the healing of both people and planet.
Damian has been a founder and executive leader of multiple advertising agencies, production, and post-production companies (Arcade Edit, Fallon, Saatchi & Saatchi, Company3), winning a multitude of industry awards, including multiple Emmys and Grammys.
Passionate about giving back, Damian founded Fully Equipped Sports, a non-profit which has transformed the lives of thousands of underprivileged children in the US, Mexico and Darfur by providing them with the equipment and uniforms needed to participate in sports. And now, he’s excited to have his new company be another channel for giving back, with a percentage of profits going to organizations that help protect nature and the Earth.
